LEADING EDGE LLC offers a variety of wilderness consulting services to meet a variety of needs. We work with college outdoor programs, outing clubs, Americorps & Student Conservation Association groups, summer camps, school groups, youth at risk programs and others in leadership education training, program design and planning.

Leading EDGE LLC offers professional development programs for educators.(1) Wilderness Leadership Development & Training - LEADING EDGE LLC offers comprehensive classroom-based and a limited number of field based programs designed to develop the technical and interpersonal leadership skills required to lead educational wilderness outings. LEADING EDGE LLC uses the comprehensive yet detailed curriculum designed by the Wilderness Education Association, the nationally recognized leader in university-level outdoor leadership training and certification. LEADING EDGE LLC's WEA-trained instructors specialize in teaching the "soft" skills of leadership, decision-making, and expedition behavior. Note: Courses are offered on a contract basis only. We do not have open enrollment programs at this time.

(2) Program Development, Review and Strategic Planning - The growth of academic and co-curricular outdoor programs among colleges, universities and secondary schools during the last decade is nothing short of astonishing. Concerns regarding staffing, student leadership & training, financial accountability, short-term vs. long-term outcomes, overuse of limited resources and student satisfaction have increased at the same rate. LEADING EDGE LLC provides an outside, national perspective comparing your programs with others of its kind and offering recommendations and strategic planning through on-site visits, needs assessment and review of existing materials, facilities and programs.
