The corporate/non-governmental organization environment is demanding new skills for a new world. Leading EDGE specializes in developing skills for high quality collaborative problem-solving teams. Likewise, situational leadership development, team-building, decision-making strategies, critical thinking, creative thinking, organization and communication are major components of our corporate development model.
Leading EDGE has a variety of staff development workshops designed to address specific work place issues. Our programs are custom designed to assist organizations develop the "critical skills" to survive and thrive in our ferociously competitive fast changing world. Specifically we strive to tap the emotional and intellectual "capital" of all members of your organization at all levels. We believe that high quality collaborative problem solving teams are part of the organizational solution heading into the 21st century.
We address the essential questions:
- What are the characteristics of High Quality Collaborative Problem Solving Teams and why do we need them?
- What kinds of skills does it take to be an effective member of a "Team" - how can all your team members develop these skills?
- How can you develop an organizational culture which nurtures and supports high quality collaboration?
- How will you know when you have become a "Team?"
- How can you assess your performance as a Team?
- How can you promote individual accountability and responsibility among all team members?
- What role does "leadership" play in developing "the Team?"
Evidence you will see in the workplace of participating in a Leading EDGE Corporate program:
1. Appropriate use of the "vocabulary" of collaboration in day to day situations
2. Meetings designed & facilitated with intentionality.
3. Transference and application of theory from familiar to unfamiliar contexts
4. Conscious/articulated rationale for developing rituals, processes, procedures which contribute to the development of high quality collaborative problem-solving teams
5. Employees taking initiative and appropriate risk taking
6. Workers reflecting on interactions with others and modifying their behavior as appropriate
7. Workplace "challenges" framed in terms of the experiential cycle
8. Employees describe desirable attributes of the "critical skills" they need to use
9. Employees describe "tools"/strategies & apply appropriately. [e.g., IP3, brainstorm strategies, sweep/thumb tool, distill, setting standards, task roles, timelines, etc.]
10. Employees seek out others for feedback.
11. On going self-assessment (i.e., they know what they know and can do)
