Leading EDGE has a variety of staff development workshops designed to address specific work place issues such as decision making. Our programs are custom designed to assist organizations develop the "critical skills" to survive and thrive in our ferociously competitive fast changing world. Specifically we strive to tap the emotional and intellectual "capital" of all members of your organization at all levels. We believe that high quality collaborative problem solving teams are part the organizational solution heading into the 21st century. Participants will emerge from this hands-on workshop with an enhanced ability to:
¨ Recognize the characteristics of the four collaborative decision-making styles,
¨ Use specific tools & techniques to develop and maintain collaborative teamwork,
¨ Use specific tools for planning, facilitating, and debriefing collaborative problem-solving
Designed for those who want to help their staff "come together" to solve its own problems. Participants in this hands-on, highly interactive workshop will explore and experience a range of tools and techniques associated with successful collaborative problem - solving.
Participants in this session wll address the following questions:
¨ Why would I want my staff (both collectively and individually) to be better at collaborative problem solving?
¨ What are some specific tools and techniques I can use now to build our capacity to solve problems collaboratively?
¨ How might we assess our progress as a collaborative problem-solving team? How will we know if we are getting better?
Workshop Title: Beyond Performance Indicators: Learning to assess skill development as it happens! Designed for supervisory personnel who want to learn how to target and track specific skills and provide accurate feedback for employee growth. Participants in this session wll address the following questions:
¨ How do good coaches help players develop their skills?
¨ How can I target and track skill development?
¨ What kinds of basic tools and techniques do I need to get started? How will I know what to "look for/listen for" in my staff? Workshop Title: Developing Higher Order Thinking Skills (H.O.T.S.) in my staff! Designed for all who want to develop an environment in which people are constantly challenged to develop their skills of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
Participants in this session wll address the following questions:
¨ What are the "higher order thinking skills?" Why do I want my staff to develop them?"
¨ What do these HOTS skills "look like/sound like" as they are happening?
¨ What specific practices can I employ that will encourage the development of HOTS as part of the every day process of the workplace?
Workshop Title: Processing experience: Reflecting on our learning Designed to help people develop specific practices that will help them become reflective learners allowing employees to seek continuous improvement and work to clear standards of quality. Participants in this session wll address the following questions:
¨ What does it mean to "process our experience"? Why might it be important to include "processing" as an integral part of the work experience?
¨ What specific practices can I use to help employees process their experience more effectively?
Workshop Title: Engaging our employees: Enhancing employee ownership of their work Designed for Supervisory Staff who want to examine a range of principles and practices that can improve the level of employee ownership in the work process.
Participants in this hands-on, highly interactive workshop will explore each of the following questions:
¨ What principles and practices do business leaders recommend?
¨ How can these recommended practices be linked directly to the workplace?
Designed to build a sense of team for employees and address specific workplace issues.
Participants in this fun session will address the following questions:
¨ What is an effective team and how do I know when I'm part of one?
¨ How do we create and maintain healthy and productive teams?
¨ What are the characteristics I need to exhibit to be an effective team member?
Workshop Title: Focus on "Workplace Community" Designed for all levels of employees who want to delve more deeply into the issues and challenges of developing a workplace community that is safe and supports collaborative work.
Participants in this session wll address the following questions:
¨ What do we really mean by a "workplace community"?
¨ How can we develop and maintain a workplace community in a "test driven/results oriented" environment?
¨ How can we assess the health and development of our community
Workshop Title: The Administrator Designed for administrators who want to use their LE training to influence the "culture" of the workplace while enhancing the quality of implementation of their LE trained staff. Participants in this session wll address the following questions:
¨ What specific LE tools, techniques, or strategies might I use in my administrative practice to influence the culture of my workforce?
¨ What are the most common "issues" for LE trained employees? How can I help them to deal with these issues effectively?
¨ How can I assess the quality of their work of LE trained employees in my charge? How might I provide them with feedback and guidance that will improve the quality of their work?
